Happy Valentines day everyone! My sweet husband surprised me this morning with breakfast in bed {a plate of bacon = the way to my heart?} & the most beautiful bouquet of flowers! Tonight, we are meeting up with some of our good friends to MAKE SUSHI! Yes, you read that correctly. We are all going to attempt to make sushi. The idea came when my girlfriends and I were saying how we didn’t like eating out at restaurants on Valentines day….preset menus, canoodling couples, the over the top decorations {is anyone else picturing this scene from the Sex in the City movie?! #aaaalllltheballoons} Anyway, my friend Alison shared that one year she had taken a ‘Sushi Making’ cooking class at Sur La Table, so we decided it would be much more fun to celebrate Valentines Day with some Sake and poorly made sushi than fighting the crowds and couples at all of the restaurants 🙂 Wish us luck!
As for the look above, I wore this sweet light pink look for a girlfriends baby shower who is expecting a little girl, and it was perfect for a girly, pink filled morning. I knew I wanted to tone down the silky tank, so I paired it with this light cardigan and I love the soft touch it added to the outfit. The sweet pleated skirt could have felt slightly short {I’m so tall!} but the cardigan was great for adding a little length as well. Overall, I love the way this outfit turned out. You can’t beat the prices too – the skirt and cardigan are both under $75, and the cardigan and tank come in multiple colors.
