Free People Ottoman Sweater – Can’t start this series without first mentioning this Free People tunic. If you’ve been following me for a while now, you know that this sweater is pretty much all I wear come fall + winter. It’s perfectly oversized while still being chic, it’s comfortable while still maintaining its shape, and lastly it comes in tons of colors that can suit anyone’s needs. It may honestly be the most versatile item of clothing I own. I can wear it with workout leggings, or with jeans, as a dress or over leather. I truly believe it is one of those items that is universally flattering on pretty much anyone. I show here how you can style it tucked in or out. {also available here + here}
Sweater Shaver – This sweater {fabric} shaver is incredible. It will literally shave off the most stubborn of pills on any fabric. I’ve used it on sweaters, my sofa, my carpet {both wool, and sisal}, my bedding and even my curtains {uh huh}. Although powerful, the blade is gentle and can be used on the finest of fabrics {I went to town on one of my favorite cashmere sweaters, and it worked beautifully}. The power of this machine is what makes it far better than any other shaver on the market, and worth every penny of the slightly higher retail price. To use, lay your item flat and pull it so there are no lines or wrinkles. That way the blade has a nice taut surface to glide over and shave. I’ve brought one of these to a gift exchange party before and it was a hit. Rightfully so – who doesn’t deal with crazy pilling this time of year!? Its the gift you never knew how badly you needed!
Travel Steamer – I’ve used a steamer for years. I no longer tolerate a wrinkly wardrobe when I travel because this steamer makes it so dang easy to look crisp {in under 2 minutes flat!} This one heats up in seconds, is super easy to assemble and breaks down into just two parts. No more wasting gallons of hot water to steam your clothing in your hotel’s bathroom – buy one for you and one for a friend {you’ll both be thanking me later}.
Dr. Dennis Gross Tan Towels – One towel can tan your entire face and body and leave you looking like you just spent a week at the beach. Being very pale, I find these one of my best finds for 2019. They’re easy to apply and super natural looking. Easily my go-to when I need to look bronze at the last minute.
Coravin Wine System – I bought this tool for my husband when we first started dating and it has been one of the best kitchen investments we’ve ever made. Almost 7 years later, we still use it at least 3-4x per week! What it does is allow you to pour a single glass of wine from a bottle without opening it. That way I can pour a glass without having to worry about the bottle going bad before I can finish it. A splurge-worthy gift, but worth it – especially for the wine lover in your life!
No Show Socks – We’ve all been there – walking around and having to constantly stick your finger into the heel of your shoe to pull up the sock that’s constantly falling off your heel. Or what about the opposite? Aching feet that have been squished into too small elastic socks that never slip off your heel but also leave you wishing you hadn’t bothered at all. Enter in these no show sock sets from Loft. They are a sock game changer and will make your day-to-day life so much more comfortable. These babies aren’t elastic, so they lay flat and fit the foot as they should {without squishing it down} They also have a gel pad on the back of the heel that secures it quite nicely to ensure comfort and stability. They always go on sale and 1 or 2 packs would make a great stocking stuffer for anyone on your list!
Weezie Make Up Towels – I can honestly say that I use these dark navy make up towels from Weezie every single day. I love them because you can wipe your make up off without leaving stains behind on your nice white hand towels. They’re also extremely plush and soft which helps after you’ve cleansed your face. A set of two makes the cutest gift! {This past year I gave these as gifts to the girls who hosted a baby shower for me and everyone was so excited about them!}
The Daily Edited Phone Case – I have carried this same phone case for {probably?} close to 2.5-3 years and I’ve never gotten sick of it. It’s classic, chic and personalized in the classiest way. I love the shadow box font but there are also several other options that are equally as cute {not to mention tons of color combinations!} It would make such a thoughtful personalized {and useful!} gift!
Ostrich Travel Pillow – We all know that sleeping on a plane can be difficult, but with it’s super soft jersey material, and bead-like interior, the Ostrich Pillow makes it so much easier. This O shaped travel pillow lays on top of your eyes and ears, blocking out sound and light, and acts as a rest for the head. I first discovered it’s magic a few years ago when my {now} husband had a medical emergency when traveling. My {now} sister-in-law, Katelyn, had an Ostrich pillow with her and let me borrow it when it became clear I would have to spend the night at the hospital in a chair – It blocked out the beeping machines, the lights from other patients and made my awkward angles comfortable enough for me to get a few hours rest. If someone you love loves to travel, get them this pillow! Ever since that moment, I have sworn it’s my #1 must-have.
Amazon Jacket – This jacket went viral last winter, and with good reason! It’s often on sale for under $100 and keeps you incredibly warm. It’s also slightly oversized and super chic to boot. Comes in several colors and they also a recently launched a kids version {omg}. Some might say its over because of how popular it got last year but I disagree! I have it in black and still love it to this day.
Nest Holiday Candle – When it comes to preparing for Christmas, there is no better way than lighting one of Nest’s Holiday candles. With the combination of pine, spices and citrus all perfectly blended together, the fragrance is a tradition that my husband and I can’t live without. We seriously look forward to this time of the year where we can light our candles as soon as we get home and enjoy the subtle scent of Christmas. Nest also makes other holiday scents like ‘Sugar Cookie‘ and “Birchwood Pine‘ {my mom’s personal favorite}, but to me, none hold a candle {no pun intended} to the magical scent of the Holiday fragrance. The candle comes in an array of sizing options – one for each of the needs in your life. A votive size ($16) for your powder bath, or coworker gifts. The standard size ($42) for your office, or as a hostess gift, and lastly, the 3-wick ($64), which is perfect for a large space, like the entryway of your home or living room. Oh! And of course there is the reed diffuser ($48). My mom actually prefers this to the actual candles because she has such a strong sense of smell and the reeds don’t give off as much of a scent {in her opinion!} For me, the reeds don’t do enough – but that’s what I meant when I said there is truly a size and a scent for everyone! As I mentioned above, with it’s fuzzy, velvet-like red and gold box, the Nest Holiday candles make the perfect gift. My favorite way to gift them is to place them in a clear gift bag, and tie them with a ribbon. That way you can let the beautiful and festive box do all the work for you!
Truffle Clarity Case{s} – These little clear bags are incredible. Sturdy, stylish and extremely functional, the bags are useful in so many ways. I not only love to use them, I love to gift them as well. Click here to find out the multiple ways in which I use them.
Mi Golondrina Dress – Last, but certainly not least, is my beloved Mi Golondrina. I’ve been a fan since the brand launched back in 2012 and have since collected as many hand made and embroidered pieces as I can. The ‘Flores‘ style is their most classic piece which comes in hundreds of different color combinations {I gifted these to my bridesmaids on my wedding day in a beautiful soft blue!} but I also own and love this incredible top, a few pairs of earrings and one of the incredibly beautiful skirts. I like the to think that by the time the Mi Golondrina pieces make it into your home, they have a history as rich and beautiful as the women who make them.
Ok and there you have it! All the tried and true items that I’ve loved for years that I think would make the best gifts. If you’ve been following me for a while, there’s probably a chance you own some of these items too! What are your favorites? Are you gifting any of these to anyone? Let me know in the comments!
