WOOOO!!! I”m so excited to announce that my husband and I are having a little BOY!
Our hearts can hardly contain our excitement
I can’t believe it! A little boy!! My husband and I both thought we were for sure having a little girl. When we went to our 18 week anatomy scan, I double, triple asked the doctor to make sure he was actually a he! And guess what? We have a sweet little boy. I can hardly believe it.
All my friends who have boys says they are the sweetest with their mamas, so I am thrilled. Honestly, we are just so, so grateful to have a healthy baby – we didn’t really care what the gender was! We have just been enjoying every minute of this pregnancy and thanking our lucky stars for his {and my!} good health.
HOW WE FOUND OUT
My husband was dead set on us not finding out the gender, but I just knew I needed to know. After a few discussions, I finally won him over and he agreed to find out gender on *one* condition: he didn’t want to do a big gender reveal party. He wanted it to be just the two of us, and honestly, I was soo ok with that! Believe it or not, I really don’t like to be the center of attention, and a gender reveal party never really felt like ‘me’ anyway – so I was happy to oblige!
The Saturday morning that we decided to find out {we had our doctor put the gender in an envelope} we slept in, went for a walk with the dogs and got coffee. We were both relaxed and just happy – neither or us felt stressed or rushed. We wanted to just enjoy the moment – the last few hours and minutes before our lives would change forever! With the sun shinning for the first time in what felt like weeks, and with a fresh coffee in hand, we were ready! The day was already perfect.
When we got home, I set up my camera, and had two poppers waiting out for us {my assistant had come by earlier that week and taken a peek at the doctors note, and set aside the correct color poppers}. I hit record and we got ourselves ready. We were both nervous and excited, and on the count of three – we popped the poppers! BOY!!! We couldn’t believe it when the confetti came out blue!!!! We were so shocked and excited and just stared at each other in disbelief! A boy!? How were we both wrong? We still don’t know why we were both so sure it was a girl – but it just made the surprise that much more exciting!! We immediately called my parents, and then my sister who were all thrilled. Next, we drove over to my in-laws where we shared the news with them in person. It was truly the best day!!
Ever since, I’ve slowly gotten used to calling ‘it’ a ‘him’ when referring to the sweet little baby growing in my stomach. I can’t wait to be a boy mom! If you have any boy mom tips let me know in the comments! I am clueless!! And feel free to ask any questions 🙂 We are so excited to share this news with you all! 🙂 xx

Congratulations! My husband and I were so sure our baby was going to be a girl too. We had a name picked out and I had already started picking out nursery decor. It seemed liked the most natural thug in the world! Then we found out we were having a boy and let me tell you, all your friends are right! Having a little boy is the best! He’s 11 weeks old and I can’t wait to have another one! You’re going to be a wonderful mama! Enjoy every moment of being pregnant (and let your hubby spoil you!)

Congratulations! This exact situation happened to my husband and me! We are currently 25 weeks pregnant and we were convinced it was a girl and ended up being a boy! We were so shocked, like, had no words. Yay for first time boy moms!

“Don’t buy anything nice!” Haha. That’s what my neighbors (with 2 boys) told me when they saw my 4yo trying out their skating ramp!! My guy has soooo much energy and I have to get him outside every day. I have two little girls next who are so different and sweet but of course I love them all the same. scooters, bikes, swings, trampolines, bounce houses, trikes, pogo jumpers, ride ons, will be your best friends!! We have them all at our house. Also, cardboard boxes to build “baracades and forts”…get ready – it’s a riot. Have fun and hide the valuables!!

I am a mom to 3 amazing boys (16, 14 and 9)!! They are such a joy, and each one is SO different than the other! They can be rowdy, smelly (downright filthy sometimes), but they have the sweetest, kindest hearts!! Watching them grow up into young men is truly a gift that I thank God for every single day! And I’m so thankful for my husband who definitely understands them better than I do😉 One last thing – once your son gets a little older, find what they’re interested in and be interested in it, too!! Learn about it, ask them about it, just invest in that interest and you will connect with them (especially teenagers)!! Congrats to you both on this exciting new journey!!

Courtney I have just one little boy who is only 13 months now but thank you for that helpful tip. As I am a solo Mama I appreciate any advice that can strengthen the bond that my son and I have, especially as he grows up and starts becoming his own person. Much love, Susanne xxx

Welcome to the boy moms club indeed. I have two sons (19 and 23) and I can’t imagine having a girl. There’s just something special about the bond between a momma and her son. You’re the first woman in their life and that’s just an honor. Savor every moment!! Congrats my friend!!

If there’s anything I’ve learned it’s that science and modern medicine are an amazing resource for struggling mmamas-to-be! Hang in there, I’m sure your day is coming!! Prayers to you in the meantime <3

Congrats, momma! I love my sweet boy so much! My little one is too young to offer too much sage advice but this … peepee teepees are purely a novelty. Stick a wipe over his peepee as soon as you open the diaper and you’re golden 😉
bridgettt213@yahoo.com says
Haha this is too funny!!! I’ve heard the peepee teepee is a lifesaver!!!!

Omg congratulations!
I was sure we were having a girl and I was so wrong! I did, too, kept asking the tech to confirm the gender every time we went! We now have a 6 mo. old little man and he fills my heart with joy and stares at me in ways that sometimes make me tear up (I know, crazy!)
My one advice for you is to point the penis down when you put on a new diaper… somehow they manage to pee out of the diaper and it runs up and out through the front or the sides!
bridgettt213@yahoo.com says
Hahaha such great advice – thank you!! We are so excited!

Congrats girl!! Kanon is almost 3 months old now, and I still can’t believe I have a BOY! He is the best thing that has ever happened to us. He’s the sweetest little baby and I cannot wait to raise him! You will have so much fun shopping for boy things, and dressing him. You will find, if you haven’t already, there are more girl things to shop for in stores, but the boy stuff is cuter! Congrats again!! Xoxo
