I am so excited to announce that for the second year in a row, my family and I are hosting Hope Fest, our annual fundraising event for children and adults with special needs.Last year, in our inaugural year, we were able to raise over $230,000 which went towards, among many other things, buying a new special handicap transport van for Connecting Point, a new full-time teacher for Cornerstone, and two new water wells in India through Love Like You Mean it.
We look forward to raising even more money and awareness in our second year for 4 incredible organizatons. Two, you might remember from last year, and two new ones. More information on them is below!
CONNECTING POINT
An organization that provides impactful day programs for adults with special needs.
My sister-in-law, Katelyn, worked as a teacher at Connecting Point for 2 years and we all saw first hand how incredible this day program is. Once a person with special needs graduates from high school, there is often times no place for them to go. What Connecting Point does, is offer them a valuable place to go where they can foster independence through educational, social, recreational and vocational initiatives. The teammates in these photos all attend Connecting Point!
CORNERSTONE
A private school providing individualized support for children with special needs.
Before becoming a full time mom, my sister-in-law, Katelyn, worked full time at Cornerstone, a faith-based educational program for children with special needs. These children get to learn in a nurturing, supportive, and faith-based environment & have fun while doing it!
THE HUCKLEBERRY FOUNDATION
The Huckleberry Foundation for families with special needs is a nonprofit foundation that provides financial assistance to families with special needs children as well as local organizations that support special needs individuals.
MAJESTY OUTDOORS
Majesty Outdoors is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, whose work is focused on bringing awareness to the fatherless epidemic in our society and enacting real life change in our communities related to the growing Fatherless Generation.
As of today, Majesty Outdoors Foundation has impacted the lives of more than 3,000 fatherless children, and we are hoping to see the TideChangers mentoring program multiply each year with the help of the money raised through Hope Fest!
We are also doing a raffle with some really amazing items…like, really amazing. There’s a one week stay at Aly Beach/Seaside {$7,500 value}, a pair of diamond hoop earrings and matching bracelet {$6,800 value}, an autographed jersey from Matthew Stafford, Mi Golondrina Mommy & Me outfits, a consultation with Alex from The Defined Dish, and so many, many more! {I told y’all it was good}
