Happy ski season! In honor of my recent trip to Colorado, I wanted to put together a list of all my go-to ski essentials for littles. Over the years, I’ve purchased numerous jackets, pants, and accessories trying to find well-made items that actually keep my boys warm. Below are just a few of my absolute favorites that I reach for year after year.

1. Thermal Base Layers – Every kid needs good/warm base layers when skiing or out playing in the snow. I love this particular set because the sizes start at 2T; many other base layer offerings for kids don’t have sizes for the littlest littles. The price is also right, coming in under $15.
2. Thermal Snow Socks – These wool ski socks are fantastic, and I love the vibrant, playful print! Henning has been using them for skiing over the past few seasons, and they’ve consistently kept his toes warm and comfortable.
3. Goggles – These are the ski goggles Henning uses, and they’ve been great. Ski goggles can often be quite pricey, so finding these at just $28 feels like an excellent value.
4. Toddler Mittens – These are hands down the best kids’ ski gloves on the market. Designed as mittens with a convenient side zipper, they make slipping your child’s hand inside effortless—no more struggling to get each finger in the right spot. One of their standout features is the extra-long cuff, which easily slides up over the jacket sleeve, effectively keeping snow out. Having tried numerous kids’ ski gloves, I can confidently say these are unmatched in quality and practicality.
5. Neck Gaiter – This is our favorite fleece turtle for keeping the neck warm. I love the fun neon pop as well.
6. Snow Boots – On our recent trip to Crested Butte, both Henning and Wilder wore these boots, and they worked perfectly. They have a sturdy base for excellent support and come with high reviews on Amazon, making them an easy choice. The side zipper is another standout feature, ensuring they’re quick and easy to put on and take off.
7. Helmet – This is the helmet Henning uses for skiing, and it’s been a great choice. Helmets are an absolute must, and I’m so glad we decided to purchase one for Henning instead of renting.
8. Insulated Ski Bib {Helly Hansen} – I absolutely love this ski bib! It’s exceptionally well-made, durable, and, most importantly, warm. I also prefer dressing Henning in brightly colored jackets or ski pants, like this one, to make it easy to spot him on the mountain.
9. Insulated Ski Bib {North Face} –Like the ski bib mentioned above, I prefer this style for toddlers, especially when they’re learning to ski. With all the falls, a bib helps keep snow from getting inside the waistband. We own this one and love it! I sized up in both bibs for Henning so he can get a few seasons of wear.
10. Ski Jacket – I have ordered numerous ski jackets over the years and none compare to this Obermeyer jacket. When we outgrew our first one, I tried several other brands, but I was so underwhelmed after comparing them to the Obermeyer that I returned all of them and bought this one in a larger size. It’s incredibly well-made and extremely warm. Worth every penny for us if it means our littles are warm and not complaining about being cold!
11. Thermal Base Layers – This is another kids’ base layer I really like. However, we have the XS for Henning, and it’s still a bit roomy on him. I’d recommend these for larger toddlers or older kids.

September means the arrival of college gameday. Whether it’s dressing for tailgating and a trip to a stadium or getting together with friends and loved ones at home, repping your team’s colors is a quintessential part of getting in the spirit.

I recently discovered ME + EM, an online retailer with high-end, well-made classic pieces. Right off the bat, there were so many pieces I loved.
