YALL. If you’ve been following me for a while, you know that I don’t promote events very often {or EVER}. But the one I’m about to tell you about is so incredible that you not only need to know about it, I think you’re going to want to get involved! My family and I have started a fundraising event called Hope Fest which is raising money for children and adults with special needs. Think about it as advocating on behalf of someone who can’t advocate for themselves. We are giving these young people a voice, and access to funds that will change their lives – whether that is through activities, rehabilitation, schooling, or even limbs! Before I get ahead of myself, I want you to hear a little about each organization so you can understand why they are so special to us. More detail on Connecting Point, Cornerstone, and Love Like You Mean It below!
Connecting Point
An organization that provides impactful day programs for adults with special needs.
My sister-in-law, Katelyn, worked as a teacher at Connecting Point for 2 years and we all saw first hand how incredible this day program is. Once a person with special needs graduates from high school, there is often times no place for them to go. What Connecting Point does, is offer them a valuable place to go where they can foster independence through educational, social, recreational and vocational initiatives. The teammates in these photos all attend Connecting Point!
Cornerstone
A private school providing individualized support for children with special needs.
My sister-in-law, Katelyn, now currently works at Cornerstone, a faith-based educational program for children with special needs. These children get to learn in a nurturing, supportive, and faith-based environment & have fun while doing it!
Love Like You Mean It
Seeks to change the treatment of young girls and women in India who are cast into trafficking.
Josh Weathers Band, our main performer for the night, has a really close & personal connection to this organization and we are so excited to have this be something we’re raising money for as well. Click to read more about Josh’s mission here!
Ok, but now that you know what we’re raising money for, I want to fill you in on the details of the super exciting event we’re hosting on September 30th at Happiest Hour in the Harwood District {uptown Dallas!} We’re SO excited & the best part is, that you can be a part of it all! We’re kicking things off at 3pm and by 5pm we’ll have our live music getting started – we have 3 performers for the night: Cas Haley, Michael Lee, and of course, the Josh Weathers Band {!!!!} We are also doing a raffle with some really amazing items…like, really amazing. There’s a one week stay at Aly Beach/Seaside Beach House {$7,500 value}, a diamond and white gold bracelet {$5,000 value}, an autographed tennis racket and cap from Roger Federer & Mi Golondrina Mommy & Me outfit sets among many, many more! {I told y’all it was good}
General admission is $60 & weather is supposed to be incredible. Come on up, party with us, and help us raise money for these three incredible charities!
With my sister-in-law’s Katelyn & Niña – We have so much fun together & I can’t have imagined doing any of this without them!!
I would LOVE to see each and every one of you next Saturday at Happiest Hour, so please, please buy a ticket, and help support these incredible causes!
Also, for those of you who might not be local to the DFW area, or are just unable to attend – fret not! You can still contribute to the organizations by donating {any amount helps!} here.
